Shwedagon Pagoda(大金塔)

大金塔是仰光的地標，離市中心北邊約1公里的皇家圓林西的聖山Singuttara之上，已有2500年歷史。塔高99.36公尺，塔的頂端鑲有七千多顆鑽石和一顆世界上最大的紅寶石，塔頂及外觀以六十六噸純金建造而成，它亦是緬甸中最神聖的佛塔，供奉了四位佛陀的遺物，包括是拘留孫佛（Kakusandha）的杖，正等覺金寂佛（Konagamana）的淨水器，迦葉佛（Kassapa）的袍及佛祖釋迦牟尼的八根頭髮，塔週環立68座小塔圍擁著大塔而形成金色塔林。

在不少的傳說中記載此塔在2500年前建成的，而考古學家相信此塔是由孟族（Mon）在公元六世紀至十世紀所建成；可是，有佛教僧侶寫的文獻記載這塔在佛祖死前（公元前486年）已建成。

佛塔在建成後日久失修，直至1300年中由勃固王頻耶陀努（Binnya U）重建至18米高，其後經過多次重建，直到15世紀，塔的高度才達至98米。隨後數個世紀中，佛塔在多次地震中遭受破壞。而在1768年地震中，塔頂則被震毀。而現在的塔頂是由貢榜王朝的白象王辛標信所建的。而新的塔尖則在1871年英國入侵南緬後由敏東王捐贈。

塔基周長433米，周圍有由木石建成，風格各異的64座小塔和4座中塔，塔有四個入口皆有石獅把守，而在入口後則有一連串的梯級直達至山上的平台。而在南大門兩旁則有一對"chinte"的獅身人面像把守。其鐘型的部分，在其上面是經幡及倒轉的鉢，再接著的是蓮花瓣及蕉的花蕾。而最上面的金傘有5448粒鑽石及2317粒紅寶石。在塔的尖端，則有一顆被稱為sein bu，重76卡拉的巨鑽。而在塔的周圍則懸掛著1065個金鈴和420個銀鈴。 

仰光大金塔與印尼婆羅浮屠及柬甫寨吳哥窟並稱為東南亞三大古蹟。

太多佛塔，剛入門口已情不自禁地拍照

到處都是佛像，到處都是佛塔，原本導遊預算帶我們走45分鐘，那是一般團隊的時間，最後我們花了一小時45分！連她自己也說：『怎麼跟你們走了兩個小時啊！』

45分鐘走完實在不可能，這是一個廣場，地方太大了，太多關於裡面不同佛像的介紹，多的程度是，我也不能寫了。

緬甸人是一定會知道自己在星期中那一天出生的，從而膜拜代表他們的『動物』代表。他們認為星期一是老虎，星期二是獅子，星期三分上下午，是有牙象和無牙象，星期四是天竺鼠，星期五是老鼠，星期六是龍，星期日是天鳥。到了生日當天，信眾也會來大金塔，為所屬的動物代表沐浴，譬如是28歲，星期四出生，就會為有天竺鼠和佛像以淨水沐浴28次，並供奉鮮花予佛像。

善信可以點油燈或陽燭祈福，所以，還是晚上來大金塔，下午溫度可高呢！

不過，導遊悄聲說，真正的佛牙，其實在仰光另一個佛塔

King Singu's Bell

In 1778 AD, King Singu commissioned the casting of a 5 alloy (gold, silver, copper, iron, lead) and conferred upon it the title Maha Gandha.  Weight - 24,000 kgs (24 tons), height - 3.34 meters, diameter - 2.05 meters  This 24 tons weight bell was donated by King Singu (reign 1776-81), the 4th king of Konbaung Dynasty. It is called "Mahaghanta" in Pali which means a great bell. It was stolen by English soldiers in 1825, but fell down in the river when they loaded the ship. The bell was salvaged by Burmese and back to the original place.

佛塔設有望遠鏡去看最頂的這顆鑽石，可是我怎樣看也看不到

Chan-Thar Gyi Budda Image

The buddha image is in Chan-Thar-Gyi prayer hall on the north west at the pagoda platform near the point of victory.  It is the largest concrete image of Shwedagon Pagoda.  People worship and believe that it fulfilled wishes.

Buddha's Foot Print

There is one foot print in Fridau Cleaning Association prayer hall at the north and another two prints are in Bodi-Mandaing prayer hall. Buddhists worship as Parda Stupo on behald at the Buddha

導遊說，這是神奇的水，佛祖腳印會不斷滲出水來，無論信眾怎樣喝裡面的水也喝不完，我想應該是這個位置有地下水吧。

Hsandawtwin Sacred hair relic washing well

The sacred hair relic washing well is situated just near the northern devotional pavilion.  Lord Buddha's sacred hairs were washed at this well before enshrining in the Shwedagon pagoda.  Nowadays the well was encassed in a brick structure on which was built a prayer hall.
